Subject: libc6: false update from stable to testing

Package: libc6
Version: 2.2.5-11.5
Severity: grave
Justification: renders package unusable
hi,
the libc6 update from stable to testing doesnt work correct.
the script /etc/init.d/mountkernfs has been renamed in
/etc/init.d/mountvirtfs so you havnt got any pty after the update.
the solution is to instal initscripts new after install and then
/etc/init.d/mountvirtfs is there and it works correctly.
kind regards
Nico Golde

Clint, does this hold for a stable->warty upgrade too?

Certainly not RC, then; downgrading for now (but monitor Debian activity)

How to upgrade from stable to testing? I recommend you to upgrade via
"apt-get dist-upgrade" from stable to testing.

There's no mountkernfs in woody. It was introduced in this year by
me, and it was replaced to mountvirtfs.

apt-get should handle such condition. Closed.
