ubuntu-minimal also depends on libc6-i686, which makes removing libc6-i686 scary.

For reference, strace will show an application, such as update-rc.d, hanging on

  getdents64(3, /* 0 entries */, 4096) = 0

if libc6-i686 is installed on a xen system.
