Bug Description

Upgrading from Dapper to Hardy failed :(

It downloaded all the packages, started updateing... and died:

edward@workstation:~$ sudo update-manager -c -d
sudo: relocation error: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/tls/libc.so.6: symbol _dl_out_of_memory, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 with link time reference

Trying to paste things from the aptitudelogs :

edward@view:~$ cat /var/log/aptitude
cat: relocation error: /lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/tls/libc.so.6: symbol _dl_out_of_memory, version GLIBC_PRIVATE not defined in file ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 with link time reference

Thanks for your report.

Your system is in a bad state. What have you done, did you update the libc ?
Is it still an issue ?

not an update-manager issue indeed reassigning to glibc

Thanks.
