locale-gen crashed with SIGABRT in __GI___wait4()

Trying to install ubuntu noble development iso under virtualbox and choosing the hellenic (greek) keyboard I counld not continue the installation due to the fact that hellenic characters were not accepted.
As a result I went back to the selection of keyboard and picked up the english one. Then this error appeared.

As mentioned, I'm fuzzy on the detailed steps that led to this problem, and have thus far been unable to observe it.

Trying today's iso I haven't come across this bug, yet still, using the hellenic keyboard, I cannot finish the installation. I have to add the english one via settings.
