iconv does not support MACGREEK encoding

Bug Description

According to https://www.gnu.org/software/libiconv, the GNU iconv implementation should support the MACGREEK encoding. Performing iconv -l | grep GREEK on different systems with Ubuntu 22.10 and Ubuntu 20.04 only brought me lists of other greek encodings.

Convertings something from MACGREEK to UNICODE doesn't work.

Hi,

Thanks for reaching out.

While glibc does provide a libiconv-compatible interface, it's not the same project and does not provide support for that encoding
We're not in capacity to introduce this kind of changes directly in Ubuntu. Could you instead file a bug upstream?

Thanks a lot, I didn't know that they implemented iconv twice. I found a bug for this upstream and CCed to it: https://sourceware.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=23048
