Bug Description

xfdesktop crashed with SIGABRT in g_assertion_message()

This bug is caused by opening any file manager (tested Thunar, Nautilus, PCManFM, and Nemo), then editing any file either with nano in the Terminal or with a GUI editor such as Gedit or Mousepad, then saving the file, and then the file manager crashes, and the desktop crashes along with it somehow.

System info:

This may be useful - I got a more descriptive error:

GLib-GIO:ERROR:/build/glib2.0-7IO_Yw/glib2.0-2.48.1/./gio/glocalfilemonitor.c:433:g_file_monitor_source_handle_event: code should not be reached

in the output when running PCManFM from the Terminal and reproducing this bug. Full output:

aaronfranke@aaron-xub16desk:~$ pcmanfm
** Message: x-terminal-emulator has very limited support, consider choose another terminal

** (pcmanfm:26132): WARNING **: XDG_TEMPLATES_DIR is set to invalid path, ignoring it
**
GLib-GIO:ERROR:/build/glib2.0-7IO_Yw/glib2.0-2.48.1/./gio/glocalfilemonitor.c:433:g_file_monitor_source_handle_event: code should not be reached
Aborted (core dumped)
aaronfranke@aaron-xub16desk:~$

So, I think that this error may have something to do with GLib/GTK

I am seeing the exact same bug - highly annoying!!!
Everytime I edit and save a file via Komodo it crashes the file manager, doesn't matter which file manager I use. Tried Caja, Nautilus, etc. The error is the same as above:
GLib-GIO:ERROR:/build/glib2.0-7IO_Yw/glib2.0-2.48.1/./gio/glocalfilemonitor.c:433:g_file_monitor_source_handle_event: code should not be reached
Aborted

Using Linux Mint Mate 18.1 x64.
