gksu crashed with SIGSEGV in IA__gdk_window_set_opacity()

Crash occurred when trying to run synaptic from unity's app 'dash'.
For some reason the initial apport window title referred to the Root Terminal.
At the time, compiz was running under valgrind to try to catch other issues.
