Bug Description

Binary package hint: gksu

gksu:
  Installed: 2.0.2-2ubuntu1
  Candidate: 2.0.2-2ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 2.0.2-2ubuntu1 0
        500 http://archive.ubuntu.com karmic/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

On an up-to-date amd64 installation of karmic gksu stopped working after a recent update. After entering the password nothing happens.
Executing the command in a console reveals why: sudo complains no password was provided:
'sudo: sorry, a password is required to run sudo'
