Gksu does not unfade desktop after password has been entered.

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gksu

Ubuntu 8.04
Nvidia 7800 GTX

When the desktop fades out after a gksu prompt, the desktop is not restored correctly after entering the root password. Dragging anther desktop element (e.g. a window) across the screen refreshes the part of the desktop the element covers, or the whole desktop can be cleared by, for e.g. , moving the desktop cube. It isn't every time and there doesn't seem to be a reproducible pattern to this.

I can post some system information if required but can't at the moment as I'm on a different PC.

See here for more people with the same problem: [link]http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5505934[/link]

Thanks.

Hi Sebastien,

I am using Compiz advanced desktop effects.

I think I'm using the Nvidia binary driver - version 173.14.12.

Just bumping this. There have been a few recent updates of gksu but this problem still persists.

Updates today include a Compiz patch that seems to fix this problem so I guess this bug can be closed or whatever.
