Bug Description

After clicking the update applet in the sys tray the user is presented with the logon prompt.
When the credentials are entered and the OK button is hit or enter is pressed the prompt does not go away.
Instead, it stays and on top of this the Synaptic will show the download progress window.

I am using Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering if this is still an issue for you. Can you try with the latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
