gksudo incompatible with something in scim

Bug Description

gksudo segfaults on launch when some components of scim are installed. On my
system the critical component appears to be scim-gtk2-immodule, but other
reports suggest that this is not always the problem.

This is being discussed in the forums at
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=418509

What happens: It is impossible to launch any application requiring sudo from the
GNOME menus.

What should happen: You should get a little dialog for your password and the
application should launch.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Can you please create a backtrace of the crash? To do this run:
$ gdb gksudo ls
(gdb) run
[wait for the crash]
(gdb) backtrace

and append the information to this bugreport.

Thanks,
 Michael

The backtrace from the crash.

I've attached the backtrace as a text file. Hope it helps.

Could you please try this again with the lastest dapper? Some work has been done with scim so this might actually be fixed now.

Cheers,

This does appear to be fixed in Dapper.
