Please try to be more descriptive. What was the command that you executed? I tried

$ gksu cp some_files some_directory

and nothing went wrong. Is that what you did?

very strange, i got a crash of "Gnome-Commander" as root!

okay, i'll try it:

- open gnome-commander
- start gnome-commander as administrator
-- enter credentials
- (left) choose an external drive (camera)
- (right) choose /home/laza/whatever
- copy files from left to right
--> gnome-commander crashed / unresponsive for minutes
--> close gnome-commander

got this crash report!

summary: - crashed after copyed 1 file (as root)
+ crashed after copied 1 file (as root)
affects: gksu (Ubuntu) → gnome-commander (Ubuntu)
