Bug Description

As per subject line, most of the utilities in the system/administration menu
don't launch when selected. The only exceptions are shared folders and
printing. They seem to work find from the command line though-for example sudo
synaptic works but launching it from the menu doesn't.

Do you see anything in ~/.xsession-errors after you try to launch them from the
menu?

Do you get the password prompt where applicable?

Please provide more detail.

No password prompt appears. In ~\.xsession-errors the line "** (gksudo:9543):
WARNING **: Lock found:" appears. Deleting the .gksu.lock file in my home
directory seems to have fixed the problem.

Thanks for your bugreport.

This problem is fixed with the upload of gksu 1.2.3-2ubuntu4. The locking was
rewritten and should work properly now. Please reopen this bugreport if you
still see any problems.

Cheers,
 Michael
