Bug Description

I cannot see the journal that will be attached to the bug in advance, so I can't copy the error message to the summary.
While using the Discord app I clicked the (+) button in order to select a file to upload into a chat, which led to the normal file browser dialog. I then typed either "/hom" or "~/.l" or ".loc" and before the interface could update to show that I had typed anything it froze, then a few seconds later almost all programs had closed and gnome-shell was restarting after having crashed.
I am running Ubuntu 19.10, gnome-shell 3.34.1+
