Bug Description

 affects ubuntu/git

Hi,

I've installed a kubuntu 19.04 as upgrade from 18.10.

I ran

git clone https://github.com/creationix/nvm.git -b v0.34.0 --depth=1

and I received

fatal: unable to access 'https://github.com/creationix/nvm.git/': GnuTLS
recv error (-54): Error in the pull function.

I've tried to increase httpPost and disable sslVerify but with no success.

github suggested me to recompile git, but I don't want to maintain the
package, I'd like to use git from ubuntu repository.

how can I solve this bug?

Christian

Thank you for your bug report. It works here on a disco system, do you still get the issue?
Does 'curl -L https://github.com/creationix/nvm.git -o download' work wirhout error?

Changed in git (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

The curl command works fine.
But git clone doesn't work. I had to recompile git source package with
OpenSSL instead of using GNUTLS library

weird, it works here, probably something that has to do with your setup that gnutls doesn't handle

I've installed a new VM with kubuntu 19.04 without any customization and
the error is always the same.
If it can help, I upload you the VM somewhere: the bz2 file is 2.1GB

No news no, I was mostly triaging that issue but I'm not working on gnutls nor git. It works here on a standard Ubuntu installation, so either it's something specific to your internet/configuration or it's a kubuntu problem for some reason

I can send you the qcow2 file of the virtual machine. Always the same
error. So it's not a kubuntu error.
