Bug Description

Binary package hint: git-core

When I install the package git-svn I expect to be able to run the command git-svn without setting a $PATH. The current package does not put an executable in a common $PATH.

$ sudo apt-get install git-core git-svn
....
$ git-svn
git-svn: command not found

$ dpkg -L git-svn
/.
/usr
/usr/lib
/usr/lib/git-core
/usr/lib/git-core/git-svn
/usr/share
/usr/share/man
/usr/share/man/man1
/usr/share/man/man1/git-svn.1.gz
/usr/share/doc
/usr/share/doc/git-svn
/usr/share/doc/git-svn/copyright
/usr/share/doc/git-svn/changelog.gz
/usr/share/doc/git-svn/changelog.Debian.gz

There should be a link from /usr/lib/git-core/git-svn to some dir in the $PATH

git svn, not git-svn. (This was changed upstream in Git 1.6 to reduce the pollution of the /usr/bin namespace. See /usr/share/doc/git-core/RelNotes-1.6.0.txt .)

Changed in git-core (Ubuntu):
