Keyboard not working in GIMP 2.10.8 / Ubuntu 19.04

The keyboard is not working in GIMP 2.10.8 with Ubuntu 19.04 any more.

For example:
- Keyboard shortcuts for tool selection like pressing "R" for rectangle select is not working.
- Also the main menu does not open if I press ALT+F (for File menu).

Keyboard is working after installing the latest GIMP 2.10.14 from PPA:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:otto-kesselgulasch/gimp
sudo apt update
sudo apt install gimp

Shortcuts are still not working on Ubuntu 20.04.1 Gimp 2.10.18. Alt shows underlined character but nothing happend.

Same as the previous comments:

* gimp has been working perfectly fine for months

Suddenly, shortcuts do not work:

* Keyboard shortcuts for tool selection like pressing "R" for rectangle select is not working.

* Ctrl-o doesn't do anything

Gimp is the only affected application.

Using Ubuntu 20.04, gimp 2.10.18 from default apt sources.

Tried `sudo apt install --reinstall gimp` to no avail.

Experiencing same issue as above. Seemingly out of no where all keyboard shortcuts have ceased to work. The isssue only occurs in GIMP, and not other apps or OS shortcuts.

Log shows following errors that may or may not be applicable:
