Bug Description
Binary package hint: gimp
On the old gimp versions, when I copy a selection of an image to the clipboard, and then choose to create a new image, the dimensions for that new image are the same as the pixels i've copied to the clipboard.
For example: when I copy a 40x40 image to the clipboard, and then choose new, the width and height are both set to 40.
But on gimp 2.3 that no longer works, and I find that really annoying, because I use that feature daily.
I hope you can fix this.

I've just installed Gutsy with Gimp 2.4.0 RC3 and can confirm this is still happening. Selecting the option to create a new image offers a fixed image size of 420x300 pixels rather than it being sized to the last item copied to the clipboard. A workaround if copying with Gimp (from an open image to a new file), is to right-click the selection area and choose 'Edit / Paste as new image' where a new image will be created in the correct size for the selection area. It would be nice to have the functionality back where a new file is automatically sized though.
