Bug Description
Start Gimp.
Repeated several times on my system:
Create new image. Choose rectangle select tool. Select a portion of the image. Click on the color picker. System instantly bogs and becomes unusable. The color picker starts to slowly fade in and hangs.
Switching to a terminal quickly, and typing top briefly shows Xorg at 90+% CPU usage.
iotop shows jbd2/sda2 (my main partition) at 80+% IO activity.
Kill gimp solves the problem. I can click the color picker at any other time and it pops up instantly. Just the process of selecting an area, and then clicking the color picker hangs it.
