Many of these plugins don't work

Several important effects in this plugin package are broken. Most of the Layer Effects: Drop Shadow, Inner Shadow, Inner Glow and some others I tried at random produce the error "Plug-In '<name>' left image undo in inconsistent state, closing open undo groups." And the effect fails to apply. Some of them produce a new layer, but containing nothing like the expected results. Typically they do something simple such as flat fill the current selection instead
