Bug Description

After booting from a new Ubuntu 8.04 CD on a new system, the language selection screen came up, but no selection was possible and the system seemed to hang (requiring a system power reboot). Installation could not proceed beyond this stage and the problem persisted.

Eventually the problem was eliminated by switching the USB keyboard I was using to a PS/2 port with an adaptor.
