"Check disc for defects" would better be written in a medium neutral manner

The syslinux welcome screen proposes an option to "Check disc for defects"; this is unfortunate for USB keys; perhaps this can be written in a medium neutral manner, e.g. "Check install media for defects"?

This is a significant translations effort. It ought be performed at the beginning of a development cycle, to avoid issues with translation skew for release.

The same goes for "Run from live CD" and "Press ENTER to eject the CD".

"Check disc for defects" might also be disambigues as to what disc it is going to check. This is especialy true for Danish where both disc and disk = disk, so a user might think it is checking for errors on his harddisk.

@Loïc Minier that has been reported as bug #70566, there is a patch for it but the patch needs a bit of work to be accepted.

Ajenbo, this isn't exactly the same bug; bug #70566 is about technical infrastructure to translate a specific string, the final "eject CD" message specifically; bug #340440 (this bug) is about changing all strings which mention "CD" to use something more neutral like "boot media", as some people boot from e.g. USB key or SD card instead.
