Binary package hint: syslinux
1. Start up from an Ubuntu live CD.
2. At the main menu, try to figure out what version of Ubuntu this is.
What happens: You have to start the live CD session (which takes several minutes), then choose "Help" > "About Ubuntu".
What should happen: The version number (e.g. "8.04", or "Intrepid Ibex alpha 3") should be visible immediately underneath the Ubuntu logo.
I experienced this problem when I accidentally started up with an Ubuntu 8.04 live CD instead of an Intrepid one. |
