Bug Description

Binary package hint: gfxboot

Current gutsy dailies (such as 20070605) use the normal syslinux screens instead of gfxboot, since gfxboot does not work with our new syslinux.

This makes it much harder to select various languages, etc.

gfxboot (3.3.28-0ubuntu1) gutsy; urgency=low

  * Resynchronise with Kanotix (3.2.35-1).
  * New upstream release from openSUSE, which is compatible with our
    syslinux again (LP: #118744).
  * Remaining changes:
    - Remove as-yet-unsatisfiable Recommends: grub-gfxboot.
    - Suggest gfxboot-theme-ubuntu (before other themes).
    - debian/patches/04_mkbootmsg_asprintf.dpatch: Fix some non-exploitable
      buffer overflows in mkbootmsg.
    - debian/patches/05_mkbootmsg_ctype.dpatch: Make sure to pass unsigned
      chars to isspace(), per the C standard; not doing so can cause
      problems on powerpc and other architectures.
  * Build-depend on libfreetype6-dev instead of x-dev and libx11-dev.
  * Remove debian/patches/01_x11libs.dpatch, no longer needed.
  * Dropped debian/patches/06_getx11font_endianness.dpatch as the code has
    changed significantly and includes an incomprehensible add_bits function
    which I have no idea how to make endian-safe or whether it even needs
    it. Comments were invented for a reason!
  * debian/patches/06_mkblfont_bdf.dpatch: Try .bdf files in mkblfont.

gfxboot (3.2.35-1) unstable; urgency=low

    - added 'about' button
    - make it openSUSE
    - added xen test config
    - use disk image, not floppy for grub testing
    - updated Zen pictures
    - made full panel default
    - ShiftTab now works
    - remove duplicate video modes (#145749)
    - menu bar fits menu text width
    - made 'Text Mode' translatable (#179582)
    - workaround for interlaced mode issue on some ATI cards (#177982)
    - use disk image, not floppy for lilo testing

  * Remove unused logo fading code.
  * Update langlist from langnames.inc.
  * Override language names for Gujarati, Khmer, Malayalam, and Tamil to use
    the English names; I don't seem to be able to generate a font containing
    the necessary characters for their localised names at the moment.
  * Update for various interface changes in gfxboot 3.3.28 (LP: #118744).
