Bug Description
I had been using geeqie earlier since I installed Xubuntu 12.04 on this system (fresh install on a new hard disk) and it worked fine displaying my various images. Earlier today I had minimized the program and when I tried to restore it no menus or file list or images appeared. I had maximized it and then tried to resize it to a mode where I could change its side by dragging the sides or corners, but that didn't. At one point there was an entry on the lower Xubuntu panel, but I couldn't access that since it was hidden under the usual icons there, including one for qeegie that I had added a few days ago.
I tried reinstalling geequie and one required other package (geeqie-common) a couple times, but still it's nonfunctional without any menus or file navigation list. I just noticed that geeqie-dbg is installed - I don't remember installing that, actually.
I've been keeping the packages updated at least daily with apt-get.

I am able to bring up a configuration dialog by typing control-O. However, I couldn't find any of the settings which would restore the menus and file browser on the left panel of the screen.
I'm attaching a screenshot of the program as it is now on my netbook.
