I am not sure how to reproduce the crash.

Thanks for the bug and crash report. Could you describe what did you do before this happened?

Crash report seems to be really informative so I think this can be confirmed, but additional info would be really nice to have.

I had a few text windows open. Then I closed them. I think I clicked in the window a few times. From what I recall I switched focus to the desktop. Then the application crashed. Something along this line was what caused the crash.

Looks like a crash to GTK rather than gedit

So you are rigth, most likely this is GTK issue
