Thanks for your bug. Could you get a debug backtrace (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash)? What does "dpkg -l gedit" say? Does it work with your user?

i am sometimes run "sudo gedit <all files>" crash...
i am run gedit <all files> no problem

upstream has closed the bug as OBSOLETE. The new version has that code replaced so it should not occur with it. Feel free to reopen if you get a similar issue after upgrading though
