Bug Description

(Before I mention anything about the bug, just wanted to make sure to leave some BIG PRAISE to the gedit dev team for 3.18.2. Main Menu was absent throughout in pre-3.18 and it was the horror, now everything feels perfect again. Thank you.)

This report is for gedit 3.18.2 running on Xenial.

Things are working real fine, except for the TOOLS drop-down menu which contains absolutely no menu items.
No idea why, but it looks somewhat wrong...

Just discovered yet another bug.
Wasn't able to make a screenshot of the problem because drop-down menu had to be SHOWN to you.
However, for scrot, this will cause the hotkey to get blocked!!

ksnapshot came to mind. (I don't use KDE, but this ksnapshot tool is simply excellent.)

Thank you for your bug report, what desktop environment do you use? It works fine under Unity ... could you try in a guest session?

Lubuntu + Openbox + LXDE.

I think Unity would be a little too much for my hardware...

I'm using Unity and this affects me. It does not happen in a guest session, though.

It was caused by this in my dconf registry:

[org/gnome/gedit/plugins]
active-plugins=@as []

"dconf reset -f /org/gnome/gedit/plugins/" fixes it
