Bug Description
In Gnome 2.8 gedit would open files in new tabs if a copy of gedit was
already running when opening the files via double clicking them in
nautilus. So if i open three files, i get one copy of gedit running
with 3 tabs, one for each file.
In Gnome 2.9.x/2.10 gedit 2.9.6 no longer does this. It opens up a new
copy of itself for every file I try to open via double clicking the
files in nautilus. So if i open three files i get three copies of
gedit running each with one file open.
This seems to only happen when opening the file via double clicking them
in nautilus.

as per a discussion on the ubuntu-users list, maybe we just need a pref to allow
gedit
to behave the way the user prefers.
