Bug Description
When Gedit crashes a bug report is generated and a dialog offers to relaunch application. If I choose to relaunch, a gedit window appears, however all tabs contains empty files. Only file names are correct. (It seams that all files are gone.)
In other words, only filenames are used instead of full path to restor tabs.
In the crash report, there was a command line key with the value with only file names (not with paths).
The possible reason could be that gedit was launched form cmd line not in home folder but the restored is launched in the home folder. (All files has the ~ in the brackets, so user can discover that these files are not files which were open.)
Note: The crash is not related to this ticked. This is bug is about restoring after crash.

Thanks for filing this bug.
The best I get, by way of a reproducer, on 14.04, with 3.10.4-0ubuntu4: sending SIGKILL to an gedit instance with several tabs open, I get a restored session, upon relaunch, that only features a single tab titled 'Untitled Document'. While this doesn't match your description, this differs from expected behaviour as well.
Could you please tell me if you reproduce on 14.04 with 3.10.4-0ubuntu4?
