More details:

Procedure:
1) Open Gedit
2) Double click an empty area in the tab bar

Result: Nothing happens!

This is inconsistent with Firefox's behavior.

you cannot simply compare the features of a full blown browser with a simple editor....
Any way thank you for your interest :)
You can contact the upstream developers to implement it

Thanks for the comments. However, I think I have reported another "wishlist" before and another person changed the status into "wishlist", not rejecting it. Can't the same treatment be applied to this case? (as far as I know, 'rejected' means the bug cannot be reproduced or the behavior is intentional)

Also, isn't the point of Launchpad is that users can easily contribute to improve the distro without having to deal with various upstream bugzillas?

Thanks

PS: Correction. It seems that for my other report, the status was 'confirmed' and the importance was 'wishlist.

Sorry, but I was never given a chance to set the importance level to wishlist. I'll change the status to 'confirmed' . Only the bug-contact/maintainer for gedit can make it a wishlist.

I had learnt from ubuntu docs that feature requests are to be rejected in malone.

Got the first comment on bugzilla :

[Comment #1 from Steve Frécinaux (gedit developer, points: 17)

"Firefox is not part of gnome and don't follow the HIG in many points (use of
ctrl+tab, unexpected behaviours, etc).

It is *very* unlikely we fix this one this way."

....Bad news :<

The firefox behaviour is not a reference, most of GNOME applications are consistant and we should not change them
