Bug Description

(gedit:24486): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_device_grab_add: assertion `GDK_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

(gedit:24486): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_device_grab: assertion `GDK_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

(gedit:24486): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_device_ungrab: assertion `GDK_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

(gedit:24486): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_device_grab_remove: assertion `GDK_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

(gedit:24486): Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_device_grab_add: assertion `GDK_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

(gedit:24486): Gdk-CRITICAL **: gdk_device_grab: assertion `GDK_IS_DEVICE (device)' failed

(gedit:24486): Gdk-ERROR **: The program 'gedit' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 250 error_code 3 request_code 18 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
To debug your program, run it with the GDK_SYNCHRONIZE environment
variable to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

To anyone affected,

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. This bug was reported some time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time.

Ubuntu 12.10 (quantal) reached end-of-life on May 16, 2014.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that was reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu?

Please let us know if you do otherwise this bug report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
