Bug Description

In the rgedit version in the ubuntu repository, enter the following R commands:

a = rnorm(100)
plot(density(a))

The window where the plot should be pops up ("R Graphics: Device 2 (ACTIVE)"). But the window is empty. If I resize the window, the plot appears.

Maximizing the window does not re-scale the plot.

If this is fixed in later versions of rgedit, it may be useful to add those to the ubuntu repository, as mere mortals like myself don't know how to add tar.bz2 plugins manually.

This bug is not gedit specific, it appears also in R run in terminal or in the RKWard frontend.

I had the same bug with Raring Ringtail and R version 2.15.2. Updating R to version 3.0.1 solved the problem.

Add the R language repositories and update R. That will fix it.

My graphical window isn't updating whenever I redo a plot; I have to close the window and re-run the updated plot. (this is causing me issues with looping...) Is it related to this issue?
