Bug Description

In Ubuntu 18.04.3, gdm3's TimedLogin feature is not working.

Steps to reproduce:

In /etc/gdm3/custom.conf, uncomment these lines

TimedLoginEnable = true
TimedLogin = user1
TimedLoginDelay = 10

and change "user1" to an exiting user name. Reboot. Observe that nothing happens at all.

Syslog has the following errors:

Dec 12 15:45:23 rechner-lz-06 gnome-shell[1887]: JS ERROR: TypeError: this._timedLoginItem is null#012_resetTimedLogin@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:1068:13#012wrapper@resource:///org/gnome/gjs/modules/_legacy.js:82:22#012_onTimedLoginRequested/<@resource:///org/gnome/shell/gdm/loginDialog.js:1089:16

In contrast, AutomaticLogin feature works as expected.

Did you set disable-user-list=true like described there?

Yes, I did set disable-user-list=true. Thanks for pointing me to the red hat bug report, that's obviously the same bug.
