Bug Description

System is a dual core Atom D510 w/ intel N10 chipset
KVM switch is an IOGEAR GCS24U 4-port (http://www.iogear.com/product/GCS24U/)
OS:
lsb_release -rd
Description: Ubuntu 11.04
Release: 11.04

Package gdm:
apt-cache policy gdm
gdm:
  Installed: 2.32.1-0ubuntu3.2
  Candidate: 2.32.1-0ubuntu3.2
  Version table:
 *** 2.32.1-0ubuntu3.2 0
        500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty-updates/main i386 Packages
        500 http://security.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ natty-security/main i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
     2.32.1-0ubuntu3 0

initial point: system is powered off and kvm has keyboard/mouse assigned to another computer,
Power on system
after system completes boot, select system keyboard/mouse/video on KVM,
display shows background wall paper but no gdm login window,

If the system is selected with KVM and then boots everything works as expected
