thank you for your bug report, but it's not a gdm issue, seems you installed an hp-systray or hplip autostart which is doing that rather

Changed in gdm (Ubuntu):
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Invalid

Thanks,

should I then report this as a bug against hplip, do you think?

Another application seems to have the same problem, though:

Feb 22 16:53:54 PC15-17 gnome-session[1546]: WARNING: Could not launch application 'specto.desktop': Unable to start application: Uitvoeren van dochterproces ‘specto’ is mislukt (Bestand of map bestaat niet)

Transalion of Dutch:
Execution of child process "specto" failed. No such file or directory.

Just to make sure it is not a gdm problem...

Hmmm, now it is yet another application which is affected:

PC15-17 gnome-session[1546]: WARNING: Could not launch application 'gwibber.desktop': Unable to start application: Uitvoeren van dochterproces ‘gwibber-service’ is mislukt (Bestand of map bestaat niet)

Please advice: is this a bug against gnome?

not sure what you are doing but that seems a local issue and .desktop wrongly installed rather than a bug

not sure that I am doing *anything* actually. :-)

But, if indeed .desktop is wrongly installed, how do I find out whether that is the case, and then, if possible, repair it?
