Binary package hint: gdm

Tried to solve an unpredicted problem after installing Ubuntu 10.10 on an Acer Aspire One.

The Gnome environment would not launch at startup, so I tried to search for possible fixes for the problem online. I found someone who have had a similar problem, and who was advised to reinstall gdm and xserv(?). I ended up with re-installing lots of things from the terminal, and finally it worked.

Sorry guys, but I am no techie, so this is the best response I can give :-)
