Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
When I login and set the language to "german" in the gdm menu I get LC_*=de_DE.UTF-8 (as expected).
However the LANGUAGE variable is not set (or changed). So that I end up with english gnome menus.
This is a system upgraded from karmic and I think it used to work in karmic. The LANGUAGE is set from
language-selector in /etc/default/
