Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

Ubuntu 9.10

I'm running Ubuntu on a two-ish-year-old Dell which has been running Windows XP. The first two times I booted Ubuntu the login screen was perfectly functional. Today it isn't responding. That's the long and short of the problem, as far as I can tell.

Thank you for your bug report, do you get the issue at every boot? Did you change anything to your configuration before getting the issue to start?

Changed in gdm (Ubuntu):
assignee: nobody → Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs)
importance: Undecided → Low
status: New → Incomplete

I do. The only changes I made were to add a new user and to edit a few user
privileges.

Update:

The same thing recently happened on my netbook, on which I had also installed Ubuntu via wubi. I've deleted it and started over again using the USB boot. Now Windows is tucked away inside its own tiny partition where it can't harass Ubuntu anymore.
