Bug Description
Binary package hint: gdm
I'm currently using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS, but this issue also occurred before the last 2 major updates. My gdm version is currently: gdm-2.14.6-0ubuntu1
Every time, after (re)booting my machine, the first attempt to login on gdm fails. I can see the brown background and the (busy)mouse cursor. After a minute or less, gdm will restart, and it shows up again with the 'circels' theme. Now I am able to login, but I am only able to restart/shutdown my machine through gdm (so I have to log out first).
In my /var/log/Xorg.0.log i find these lines: -------
AUDIT: Tue May 23 18:45:16 2006: 4604 X: client 1 rejected from local host
AUDIT: Tue May 23 18:45:16 2006: 4604 X: client 2 rejected from local host
AUDIT: Tue May 23 18:55:40 2006: 4604 X: client 4 rejected from local host
....

I will also attach a snippet of my /var/log/syslog wich contains some usefull info!
