Bug Description
I have a Xinerama setup with two monitors. When gdm starts, it puts the login screen on the left monitor, and the right monitor is inactive (a shade of dark brown). Gdm (or the X server, I don't know) also puts the mouse pointer in the middle of the two screens, which happens to be on the left side of the second (inactive) monitor.
The problem is, gdm wants the mouse cursor on the active screen (the left one in my case) before it will give the username entry field the focus. So each time gdm starts, I have to remember to give my mouse a small shove to the left before I can type in my username and password, which is rather annoying.
Possibles easy solutions would be: make gdm place the mouse pointer somewhere on the active screen on startup, or give the username entry field the focus at startup independent of where the mouse pointer happens to be.
