Bug Description
Binary package hint: upstart
When I boot the livecd with the 'text' option I get a text mode login prompt. In all previous releases this used to drop you into bash logged in as 'ubuntu'.
Tested on the Karmic September 24 daily iso.
I need some formed of logged in text mode to diagnose a problem with X on livecd startup. My screen shuts off shortly after X starts. I would like to raise a bug with the xorg logs but I cannot get at them when this login prompt in the way hence this bug.

I'm pretty sure that this "text" option never existed... if it got lost, it must be casper I guess *shrug*
