Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

I'm running gdm 2.27.90-0ubuntu4 on the development version of karmic. On previous versions of Ubuntu (which used the old gdm), one could use either the left or right mouse button to interact with widgets used in gdm. This enabled gdm to be used by both right-handed and left-handed users simultaneously without any special configuration. The new version of gdm only responds to the left mouse button. This is a regression.

Thank you for your bug report. The issue is an upstream one and it would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug the to the people writting the software (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Upstream/GNOME)

I upgraded from 9.04 to 9.10 beta (by doing [update-manager -d] in Alt+F2)

I restarted the computer. I get the log-in screen. I use the right button to do "regular click". (I'm a left-hander using the left-handed settings in Preferences/Mouse/[General Tab].) But the right button doesn't work.

GDM installed is 2.28.0-0ubuntu8

Thanks for opening an upstream bug, when you do so could you give the reference there next time so we can track it and don't spend time looking upstream and opening a duplicate
