When GDM loads the users take some time to be displayed.

Bug 423450 is to have the user detection in the GDM server thus this delay would only be caused once.

The majority of the time is taken in running "ck-history" which scans the ConsoleKit logs in /var/log/ConsoleKit/ to count the number of times each user has logged in. These logs are large, gzipped and vary in size.
