Cannot change option "Use 24 Hour Clock" for login screen

When I open "System -> Administration -> Login Windows" to change option "Use 24 Hour Clock" to other choices (no, or yes) and close gdmsetup, it'll change back to "auto" automatically.

Confirmed in Ubuntu 8.04. GDM package version 2.20.5-0ubuntu3.

Still present in Ubuntu 8.04.1 with gdm package version 2.20.7-0ubuntu1.1

Work-around: Edit /etc/gdm/gdm.conf-custom manually and add "Use24Clock=yes" in the [greeter] configuration.

Still present in Ubuntu 8.10 with gdm package version 2.20.8-0ubuntu3 as well.
The workaround, as described by Nils-Anders Nøttseter above, still works.

Attached patch to fix the 24 hour combo. Not raised upstream as we use an obsolete version of GDM.
