Bug Description

In my opinion, GDM should "fade in" like xscreensaver already does.
I don't think it would introduce any noticeable login delay, and would of course
look great.
Seeing that usplash -> GDM transition doesn't flicker anymore, a fade in effect
would make things nicer.

I agree... it would be a great things to see in Feisty. But think it is too late. You could even go so far as having your login fad in and GDM fade out.

Pretty cool idea.
It could increase the user experience.
But if it would increase startup time, then I vote no.
