Bug Description

I left my computer unattended for a few minutes and the display shut off. Upon returning, I attempted to unlock the computer by entering my password with the keyboard. None of the keys seemed to have any effect - I couldn't enter anything in the password entry box and pressing return seemed to have no effect either. Pressing Ctrl+Alt+F1 did allow me to switch to another VT.

Technical information:

* Ubuntu Gnome 13.04 64-bit
* GDM version 3.6.1-0ubuntu4
* keyboard is connected via PS/2

After some further investigation, it appears that the keyboard input is actually captured by the application running in the foreground behind GDM. So if I leave a text editor open, lock the display, come back later and try to enter my password, whatever I type on the keyboard is entered into the text editor and not the password entry box in GDM.

I have encountered the same problem, mostly when I attach an external monitor to the laptop after waking up from suspend.
