Bug Description

Binary package hint: gdm

XDMCP only listens on the IPv6 address, not the IPv4 address.
Can confirm this is in the latest patched version of feisty as of 12 April 07.
It is often not initially noticeable between some hosts due to autoconfigured IPv6 address use.

This is from a bug in the xdm code, mentioned here: http://utcc.utoronto.ca/~cks/space/blog/linux/IndirectXdmIPv6Bug
The workaround allows use in either ipv6 or ipv4 but not both. However the workaround is for KDE based systems.
