Gdebi quitting on installing deb files

Gdebi quitting on installing .deb files.
Double clicking on a .deb file caused gdebi to open and check the file for installation. Then when you click on install the program terminates.
Have tried it on multiple .deb files and it does the same thing.

Yes I do use Firefox to download .deb files.
I also used Chrome as well

I just double clicked on the .deb file to open it in Gdebi.
Gdebi opened and checked the file. I clicked on install and then the program terminates.
I tried it again and the same thing.

Can't reproduce with local deb-file opened by Gdebi from Caja.
About Firefox check the following bug 1854588 .

Confirm observations from @nrbrtx.

@brettwstevens69, if you can confirm that you see this issue only when launching .deb files from within firefox/chrome and not when launched from inside Caja, we could mark this as duplicate of bug #1854588 and track progress there.

Yes only happens when I try from Firefox and Chrome
