gdb crashed with SIGABRT in internal_verror() while analyzing foreign core file in batch mode

Bug Description
I was trying to analyze, in a batch process, a core file which stems from a forign system (this could not really work since it's a Redhat system with different libs, but I did not think of it and tried anyways).
Here's what I did and the output I got before gdb segfaulted. I have the core.1784 file here and can provide it if needed.
